ESTABLISHING the correct grip

Establishing the correct grip is essential and must be practiced until it feels comfortable!

The correct grip is essential to every shot and therefore MUST be practiced (along with the stance and back lift) – it is very hard to make grip changes if not learnt and practiced properly from the start!

BOTH HANDS HAVE A ROLE

Both hands must be placed correctly – each hand has a role to play to enable proper use of the wrists.

PROPER USE OF THE WRISTS

Proper use of the wrists generates bat speed and power for attacking shots.

FULL FACE OF THE BAT

A correct grip allows the full face of the bat to meet the ball square-on at impact (full bat face meeting the ball).

SHOT Problems

Many shot problems can be traced back to an incorrect grip (preventing the face of the bat from making full ball contact).
