Strong steps create a STABLE BASE OF SUPPORT!
A stable base provides the foundation above which the head feels supported
A stable base relates to the Head to foot and Hitting zone concepts (next 2 concepts)
ROLE OF FEET
The feet provide the platform (or a base of support) above which the head position either feels supported over the base or it doesn't.
SUPPORT BASE
Some shots can be played with a smaller support base where the feet are closer together (for example – Back Defence). Most shots however, require that the feet are further apart to provide a more stable (wider) base.
PRACTICE
It takes practice to move the body and the feet to achieve balance and stability for each shot.
