BATTING ESSENTIALS
TM
Cricket COACHING SYSTEM
LIFT / STEP / SNAP / WRAP is the '4-word' phrase I use to remind players of the process for playing the Cut Shot.
LIFT / STEP / SNAP / WRAP is a memory key and provides the player with the sequence for the movements used when playing the Cut Shot
COACHING LANGUAGE:
LIFT / STEP / SNAP / WRAP

CUT SHOT
LIFT
LIFT the bat in the back lift, set the top wrist and take the bat back with the elbows away from the body (horizontal Number '9' position).
STEP
STEP with a wider Back foot back & across movement leaving the front foot in its original position.

Keep the hips side-on to the ball.
SNAP
Swing the arms towards the ball and SNAP the wrists into the Hitting zone.
WRAP
Continue full bat speed through the Hitting zone and follow through by allowing the bat to WRAP around the shoulders.

Hips, chest and eyes should be facing the direction of the shot after impact.
